Long time no blog

Well I have been rather slack this month or should I say I was introduced to Farm Town on facebook and I've become rather attached to it. Which mean't something had to miss out hence the no blogging. So I had better give a quick overview on the Finnie/Boys family.
My trip to Palmerston North was good and bad:
Good Points:
  • Having my brother travel with me
  • My brother owns a GPS
  • Spending time with my sister and her husband and neices
  • Seeing dad
  • Catching up with cousins after 30 years
  • Singing at my aunty funeral
  • My brother again, I so love him, he waited with me for 3hours in Chch airport before my flight home.
  • Getting home

Bad Points:

  • The price!!!!!!!
  • Carrying Kate around the airport for hours
  • Booking the wrong flight for my brother which mean't I had to wait 3hours in Wellington airport.
  • Kate discovered the toilet brush at my aunty house YUCK!!!!!!
  • Late night visitors who woke us up at the motel (he knew my brother and me when I was 5 years old) I couldn't remember him.
  • Drunk people
  • Leaving Palmerston North to late
  • Which mean't leaving my car keys and wallet in the rental car in Wellington.
  • No money/angry husband.

Overall the trip was worth it despite the odd "hick up"

School holidays came and went. I must admit school holidays are my least favourite times because it means even less sleep for me and I struggle trying to keep Nicholas entertain. However we did go on a couple of ventures with the Kate and the girls at the museum which was fun and we went to see Madagasca live on stage. However most of the time because I worked extra shift we just stayed at home.

One day I feel asleep on the couch and Nicholas was watching a movie Kate was having her nap. Nicholas made him and I some lunch it was so nice. He made us a marmite sandwhich and a glass of water. He whispered in my ear "mum I made you some lunch" Later on that day I asked Nicholas to bring me one of his reading books to read to me. The title was Mums new job, a story about a mum who works hard and the child felt like his mum didn't spend much time with him. His aunty suggested he should help his mum out so one day when she was asleep on the couch this little boy made his mum some lunch.........

On the Ben front he has the Aaronic Priesthood now and so this Sunday he is going to partaking in the sacrament which I'm pretty excited about. We had a rough week there where our communication skills let us down thus Ben had to be grounded. Its hard bringing up teenages give me a baby anyday. Ben's girlfriend in Timaru worries me +++ I have read a couple of her letters to Ben (he knows I read them) and seen a couple of text messages and she scares me. What to do??????

Last Friday Dave, Craig, Kate and myself went to the Larnach Castle Ball. It was so much fun we got dressed up in Victorian era and danced the night away. I really enjoyed it even if we had to cue for our supper for 30 minutes and still I'm waiting for that non alcoholic punch which was advertised.

Alison came back from her holiday and its great to have her back. I really missed her and now I'm looking for another course for her to do next year so she can come back.

Kate is growing fast and a very independant young lady who loves playing copy me. She does all these actions (hands on head, touch her toes, lay down etc) and we copy her. I finally got a placement at the hospital daycare centre its taken 16months and so she starts on Monday. We went for a visit on Friday and she loved it. I sat at the back of the room and observed and she never once looked for me and although I was sad that she didn't miss me or looked for me, I feel relieved that she will be fine at daycare.

As for me not only was I introduced to farmtown but my friend Bec introduced me to the movie Twilight and well what can I say except AWESOME!!! bring on the next movie. Yesterday i went and bought the book to read and so I have 4 month to read the book before the movie screens. It's going to be a challenge but everyone I've talked to say the books are great and easy to read.

On Thursday a group of us went to Harry Potter movie the company was awesome but the movie for me was disappointing there seem to be alot of scene changes which at times didn't link up and the whole teenage discovering there love life was chessy. I fell asleep at one stage and I just felt it lacked action. I really felt dissatisfied oh well never mind next movie hopefully will be better. Who claps at the movies????? (people did).

But wait theres more I haven't talked about Dave. Well Dave is busy at work and has a new crazy with his fitness he's taken up swimming 2-3 times a week. He has also finished his first paper towards his degree and managed to score an A+ which he is happy about. (So he should score big he's a geck).

So 20 days gone since my last blog and hopefully I wont leave it too long before I blog again................

It's Ridiculous!!!!!!

Last week my aunt from my dad side passed away and as she was someone special I knew I had to go to the funeral. I also found out that my other siblings and dad were also attending. My aunt lives in Palmerston North which meant a plane trip. So on the net I go to book some flights for Kate and myself. Oh my gosh to fly from Dunedin to Palmerston North return was going to cost $700 via Air New Zealand, I couldn't believe it, how can they justify that price. I searched and searched and final the cheapest way for me to get there would be to fly to Wellington and hire a car and drive to Palmy. I booked my flights through Pacific Blue and so all up with car hire $390. I still felt it was pricey but it was best I could do. I found out that my youngest brother spent over $700 to get there totally ripped off. I don't understand why it is so expensive to fly in your own country but way cheaper to fly to Australia it seems ridiculous!!!!!
